The races are conducted in accordance with the FY2015 rules and regulations set forth by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), and the rules and regulations set forth for this event.

* 1.Only one application may be submitted per event or entry category.
* 2.Includes disabled entrants (those carrying disability cards), entrants residing overseas and those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
* 3.Includes the age-group challenge/Kobe Marathon first-time entrants (individual entry), and group volunteers.
Caution!! Applicants in these categories can apply only through the Japanese-language website. The English-language website cannot be used for these categories of applications.
* 4.Time limits are based on signal gun time.
* 5.Cut-off times are set at each checkpoint due to the limited duration of traffic control, security, and event operation. Athletes who miss cut-off times not only for checkpoints but also for other points by significant margins will be disqualified.
* 6.Charity proceeds will be donated to the Kobe Marathon Friendship Bank.
* 7.Group entry applications must use the Japanese-language website only. The English-language website cannot be used for this category of application.
Qualifications
1.Marathon: Athletes born on or before April 1, 1997
❶ Registered runners: Those registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations
❷ General runners: Those not registered with the Japan Association of Athletics Federations
* Above both runners (including those from Japan and abroad recommended by the organizers) should be capable of completing the race within 6 hours, 40 minutes.
2.Quarter marathon: Athletes born on or before April 1, 2000
* Open to those capable of completing the race within 1 hour, 30 minutes.
* The quarter marathon is a “fun run.”
  • * Above both events are limited to non-wheelchair users.
  • * For both events, those with disabilities (holders of disability cards) who would have difficulty competing alone may designate one escort runner. (Runners may not be accompanied by a seeing eye dog.)

If applications exceed capacity, entrants will be selected through a drawing. The results of the drawing will be announced on Tuesday, June 30 (tentative)

(4)Entry fee transfer
Successful applications will be asked to transfer the entry fee to a specified bank account by a specified date. If no entry fee is received, selection will be nullified.
Awards (1) Marathon
  • Awards will be presented to the top eight men and the top eight women runners.
  • Awards will be presented to the top eight men and the top eight women runners for each five-year age group (excluding recipients of the awards in (1) above).
(2) Quarter marathon
  • No awards will be presented for the quarter marathon.

  • * Note that check-in will be closed on marathon day (November 15). Entrants may not check in outside the times stated above.
  • * Escort runners should also check in at the above times.
  • * At the time of check-in, the entrant's identity will be confirmed by identification documents, etc. (the entrant must present in person).
  • * Check-in will be refused if the entrant fails to show identification documents.
  • * Those with disabilities must bring their disability card.
Doping controlThis will be conducted under the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) anti-doping regulations or Japan anti-doping regulations. Doping tests taken before or after the event will be based on urine or blood collection (or both). Applicable runners must take the tests in accordance with instructions.
TUE ApplicationsRunners who must use, for the treatment of an illness, a prohibited substance or method listed under the Prohibited List International Standard must apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).

(1)Entry fees will not be refunded in the event the Kobe Marathon is cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of the organizers.
